When the Kennedy administration first committed to putting a man on the moon, there were rumors that some at NASA weren't dedicated to that vision.

President Kennedy wanted to beat the Russians, which required everyone at NASA be committed to that goal. He headed to NASA to personally ensure that this was the case. Upon entering the building, he met a janitor and asked, "How are you?"

The janitor replied, "I'm doing great. I'm putting a man on the moon."

The President returned to Washington. There was NO problem at NASA. President Kennedy's visit to NASA suggests two important keys to project success:

1. Align corporate strategy with workforce execution

2. Engage the workforce in the project management process

The formula contained in the three pages of this document will help you better manage your projects and complete more projects on time and within budget.
