When data center consolidation is used to centralize servers and applications from remote sites, providing adequate rack space and power becomes a real challenge. This webcast explores a technique to circumvent oversubscription, increase visibility, and simplify data center management. Watch it to learn how collapsing switching tiers in the networking allows you to do the following:
Simplify Layer 2 design with L2 loop prevention, elimination of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) at the access tier, and Virtual Chassis techonology, which enables multiple switches to operate and be managed as a single, logical switch
Improve performance by connecting the access tier straight to the core, which lowers application latency and increases network and system availability
Reduce complexity by reducing oversubscription and underutilization, integrating security services in the data center and reducing the number of devices
