"Malicious cryptomining lets cybercriminals profit at your organization’s expense. No industry is safe from malicious cryptomining - a browser or software-based threat that enables attackers to secretly use an organization's computing power to mine digital currency. This fast-growing threat can lead to degraded system performance, soaring electricity usage, regulatory problems, and vulnerability to future attacks. View our infographic to find out who they’re targeting and how to protect your network. "

Security risks have grown roughly in proportion to the meteoric growth in employee-owned mobile devices within the workplace. Meanwhile cyber-attacks are growing in sophistication and severity. According to data from a new IDG Research survey, these dynamics have IT decision makers scrambling to tighten and revise BYOD policies while addressing the holistic issue of endpoint security. Download this two-page paper detailing the IDG Research results and for expert advice on securing your organization’s data in an increasingly mobile world.

The types of threats targeting enterprises are vastly different than they were just a couple of decades ago. Today, successful enterprise attacks are rarely executed by the “lone wolf” hacker and instead come from highly sophisticated and professional cybercriminal networks. These networks are driven by the profitability of ransomware and the sale of confidential consumer data, intellectual property, government intelligence, and other valuable data. While traditional PC-based antivirus solutions can offer some protection against these attacks, organizations need highly adaptive and much faster mobile threat defense (MTD) for enterprise devices.

"This Ovum white paper is sponsored by Juniper Networks. It reveals that organisations need to update and upgrade their cybersecurity postures to defend themselves against today's threats. More than 80% of organisations in Asia are not protected against today's threats. Many of them depend on security investments made years ago, which cannot defend against new and emerging threats. The arrival of new technologies including cloud computing, the Internet of Things, mobility, bring your own device (BYOD), and social media have massively increased attack surfaces and expanded the threat landscape. Over the past two years, there has been a global infestation of ransomware attacks, which have wrought destruction across a growing number of businesses. Crypto-jacking, attacks on critical infrastructure, and data exfiltration are now commonly affecting businesses and consumers alike. The financial impact of these attacks is increasing rapidly and has already cost some organisations hundreds o

As customers demand and expect more of a digitized experience, the scale and volume of secure data that’s being transmitted across the network is increasing exponentially. At the same time, across the APAC region high digital connectivity, contrasted with low cybersecurity awareness, growing cross-border data transfers and weak regulations have made this data a global target. The growth in the “as-a-service” nature of the cybercrime marketplace is also fueling an increase in the number of traditional crime groups and individuals drawn into cyber offending. New sources of vulnerability from mobile, BYOD, CYOD, web-services and IoT devices are further broadening the cyber threat landscape with ever-more sophisticated forms of malware and DDoS attacks. Download the IDC Report to get some tips on how to stay protected against cybercrime.

The SANS 20 Critical Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defense offers a blueprint of prioritized guidance to reduce risk. New updates to the SANS 20 signify the growing need to secure digital certificates and cryptographic keys to preserve trusted communications for all of your critical systems and your organization’s interactions with customers and partners. Too often cyberattacks on keys and certificates are successful because basic security controls are not present or not properly configured. Download the Solution Brief to learn how you can effectively build scalable controls and reduce risk: • Manage the rapid growth in certificates • Gain visibility into where keys and certificates are located • Secure your certificates against cyberattacks • Enforce automation of certificate issuance and renewal

Never before have state and local governments been expected to do so much with so little. Even as budgets remain tight in a post-recession environment, tech-savvy citizens demand higher levels of service, they want to pay taxes by credit card, renew their driver's license online, and check traffic from their smartphone. These responsibilities make cyber security critical for state agencies, municipalities, and public utilities. Governments possess residents' most sensitive information - including inviolable personal data such as Social Security numbers and birth certificates. This white paper highlights: Why traditional tools fail to detect advanced attacks; Gaining a cohesive, correlated view of all major threat vectors; How to leverage signature-less, real-time security that thwarts zero-Day attacks.

The Security Operations Center (SOC) is the first line of defense against cyber attacks. They are charged with defending the business against the many new and more virulent attacks that occur all day, every day. And the pressure on the SOC is increasing. Their work is more important, as the cost of data breaches are now substantial. The Ponemon Institute’s “2017 Cost of Data Breach Study” says the average cost of an incursion is $3.62 million. The study also says larger breaches are occurring, with the average breach impacting more than 24,000 records. And with new regulations such as the EU’s General Data Protection Requirement (GDPR) putting stiff financial penalties on breaches of personal data, the cost of a breach can have material impact on the financial results of the firm. This trend toward increasingly onerous statutory demands will continue, as the U.S. is now considering the Data Privacy Act, which will bring more scrutiny and accompanying penalties for breaches involving

Research conducted by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), sponsored by Oracle, provides answers. The results show that a proactive security strategy backed by a fully engaged C-suite and board of directors reduced the growth of cyber-attacks and breaches by 53% over comparable firms. These findings were compiled from responses by 300 firms, across multiple industries, against a range of attack modes and over a two-year period from February 2014 to January 2016. The lessons are clear. As cyber-attackers elevate their game, the response must be an enterprise solution. Only C-suites and boards of directors marshal the authority and resources to support a truly enterprise-wide approach. In sum, proactive cyber-security strategies, supported by senior management, can cut vulnerability to cyber-attack in half.

Two-thirds of all internally generated email sent is from employees communicating within an organization*. Yet most IT organizations only focus on inbound email when it comes to protecting against cyber-attacks. In doing so, they ignore the serious risks posed by internal and outbound emails and the actions of two at risk groups of users - the compromised and careless employee. Mimecast Internal Email Protect extends the security capabilities of Targeted Threat Protection to provide advanced inside-the-perimeter defenses. Watch this on-demand webinar where Mimecast’s Chief Trust Officer, Marc French, and Cyber Security Strategist, Bob Adams discuss: The top things to do to optimize your Targeted Threat Protection implementation and prepare for addressing the threats on the inside.
