Today’s increasingly mobile workforce demands ubiquitous, fast wireless access to meet the changing needs of the modern organization. The Wi-Fi networks that used to support this access often grew organically and were not engineered to support the widespread, high bandwidth needs of users.

As mobile computing becomes an increasingly important technology, the need for robust, reliable wireless networks is growing. In addition to enterprise-issued devices, users are bringing their own tablets and smartphones and demanding access to IT resources. Organizations need a wireless infrastructure that can support these demands. Our research shows that in addition to mobile demands, aging hardware is driving many organizations' wireless upgrade plans. Download this white paper to read more about the research.

Many, if not most, organizations today are grappling with the challenge of a growing mobile technology environment. Mobility can deliver many key benefits: improved collaboration among workers, enhanced customer service, easier access to corporate information from many locations and increased productivity—to name a few. But the proliferation of mobile devices and applications also comes with its share of challenges, perhaps none more important than ensuring the security of the devices themselves as well as the data they contain and the enterprise networks they access.

If you’ve noticed more employees accessing the corporate network using their personally owned mobile devices, you’re not alone. Many employees are boosting their productivity by using their smartphones and tablets at work. Gone are the days of corporate IT departments dictating the types of mobile devices that could access the network. Bring your own device (BYOD) policies, while increasing employee satisfaction and productivity, are straining corporate networks. This white paper describes the limitations of legacy networks, especially for supporting BYOD. Understanding these limitations can pave the way for a successful BYOD management policy for campus and branch networks.

As the corporate landscape becomes increasingly mobile, and workers collaborate across a growing range of devices, organizations are implementing an agile and secure unified communications infrastructure. Active deployment of UC technology solutions has been on the rise among enterprises; however, adoption among midsize businesses has been notably slower. Yet in seeking ways to do more with less, midsize organizations are increasingly turning to the cloud and converged networks to provide UC solutions.

These days, business productivity depends largely on the ability to securely access and interact with a wide range of information over mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. From sales executives to field technicians, the demand for accessing corporate content securely on mobile devices is growing exponentially. In the past, implementing security measures to protect corporate content has involved VPNs, intranets, firewalls and passwords. However the increasing uptake of mobile devices in corporate settings means security measures must be implemented over a plethora of networks and devices. bigtincan has created a powerful solution with BigTinCan hub. An application for mobile devices, it allows for the distribution, management and governance of a range of content, including documents and rich media content, with enterprise-grade security.

Phishing is defined by the Financial Services Technology Consortium (FSTC) as a broadly launched social engineering attack in which an electronic identity is misrepresented in an attempt to trick individuals into revealing personal credentials that can be used fraudulently against them. In short, it’s online fraud to the highest degree. Although it’s been around for years, phishing is still one of the most common and effective online scams. The schemes are varied, typically involving some combination of spoofed email (spam), malicious software (malware), and fake websites to harvest personal information from unwitting consumers. The explosive rise of mobile devices, mobile applications, and social media networks has given phishers new vectors to exploit, along with access to volumes of personal data that can be used in more targeted attacks or spear phishing. The fact that phishing attacks are still so common highlights their efficacy and reinforces the need to implement comprehensive phishing and response plans to protect organizations. An effective phishing protection plan should focus on four primary areas: Prevention, Detection, Response, and Recovery. High-level recommendations for each of the four areas are outlined in this whitepaper.
