In order to be fully productive, different groups of employees have different needs in terms of end-user device hardware, software, and configuration. While IT departments are trying to provide and support a wider range of technology to an increasingly dispersed and mobile workforce, while maintaining low end- user disruption, they are also under a lot of cost pressure. However, consolidating processes and enlisting the help of a vendor partner, such as Dell, might reduce costs and provide expert-level knowledge for better PC lifecycle management operations. Agent-based security solutions such as anti-virus software rely on controlling all processes on a system. This approach breaks in sandboxed environments as one process cannot control other aspects of the system. To secure mobile, IT has to replace traditional PC management tools with purpose-built enterprise mobility management (EMM) Platforms, designed to enable end-user productivity while securing apps, content and devices.

Everybody has their favorite apps. But can you name even three mobile websites you like? We can’t. it’s because responsive retrofits to 20-year-old desktop web designs fail to serve us in our mobile moments of need. That’s a shame because even with lousy sites, web traffic around the world will be majority-mobile by 2019. eBusiness pros have a choice: hand your mobile moments over to a bunch of apps you don’t own, or do a radical reset of your mobile web strategy. As mobile device usage has skyrocketed in recent years, mobile applications have emerged as the key engagement channel for businesses to connect with their most loyal and most valuable customers. Mobile app usage represents more than 85% of total mobile device time, and users now spend more time with apps than they do with television. But while app usage has increased more than 60% over the last two years, the number of apps each user actively engages with has remained fairly steady, at around 27 per month. This means users have a limited appetite for additional apps – but are heavily engaged with the ones they use. So while the mobile web gives businesses broad reach, mobile apps offer a robust link to their best customers. Users who value the company enough to go through the trouble of downloading and installing the app are a brand’s most engaged audience and loyal fan base.

If you are working with massive amounts of data, one challenge is how to display results of data exploration and analysis in a way that is not overwhelming. You may need a new way to look at the data – one that collapses and condenses the results in an intuitive fashion but still displays graphs and charts that decision makers are accustomed to seeing. And, in today’s on-the-go society, you may also need to make the results available quickly via mobile devices, and provide users with the ability to easily explore data on their own in real time. SAS® Visual Analytics is a data visualization and business intelligence solution that uses intelligent autocharting to help business analysts and nontechnical users visualize data. It creates the best possible visual based on the data that is selected. The visualizations make it easy to see patterns and trends and identify opportunities for further analysis.
