Until now, huge amounts of data have been ignored or underutilized simply because the tools didn't exist to make sense of it all. The good news is that increasingly sophisticated software is combining with growing computing horsepower to produce new analytics platforms that can handle all types of data from disparate systems Organizations can extract intelligence from their data to significantly outperform their rivals on growth, earnings, and performance.

NetApp Flash Pool is a storage cache option within the NetApp Virtual Storage Tier product family, available for NetApp FAS storage systems. A Flash Pool configures solid state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs) into a single storage pool, known as an “aggregate” in NetApp parlance, with the SSDs providing a fast response time cache for volumes that are provisioned on the Flash Pool aggregate. In this lab evaluation, NetApp commissioned Demartek to evaluate the effectiveness of Flash Pool with different types and numbers of hard disk drives using an online transaction processing (OLTP) database workload, and to evaluate the performance of Flash Pool in a clustered Data ONTAP environment during a cluster storage node failover scenario. In the report, you’ll dis cover how Demartek test engineers documented a 283% gain in IOPS and a reduction in latency by a factor of 66x after incorporating NetApp Flash Pool technology.

The scope and value that modern IT service delivery provides a business is increasing dramatically, according to a new research reportfrom Enterprise Management Associates (EMA). And yet in some organizations legacy ITSM systems contribute significantly to reduced credibility for IT departments who fail to integrate with and support important business concerns. This lack of modern IT service delivery creates multiple issues for the enterprise, including: Increasing divergence of IT and business performance Rising costs due to service delivery complexity Inability to measure and protect a business from potential risks Informed by extensive research and two compelling deployment narratives, this report examines what EMA calls “next-generation ITSM” and its contributions toward optimizing changing IT and business requirements. EMA contrasts these advances with the risks of staying with legacy ITSM models and then evaluates and itemizes the risks of “doing nothing” by allowing legacy ITS

To compete in today’s fast-paced business climate, enterprises need accurate and frequent sales and customer reports to make real-time operational decisions about pricing, merchandising and inventory management. They also require greater agility to respond to business events as they happen, and more visibility into business activities so information and systems are optimized for peak efficiency and performance. By making use of data capture and business intelligence to integrate and apply data across the enterprise, organizations can capitalize on emerging opportunities and build a competitive advantage.

Restaurants are complex businesses with a simple aim: great guest experiences that keep customers coming back for more. In order to achieve this goal, stores must deliver on the promise of a great product and exceptional service. There are a lot of ways to make the equation work and each brand has its own unique mix of ingredients that bring the whole operation together to create a recipe for profitability. There are also elements of a successful restaurant that are consistent across any operation. Restaurant executives have long been on the hunt for this elusive lever (or combination of levers) that systematically drive performance regardless of conditions.

What could you be saving by implementing a learning management system? This guide will show you the provable return on investment in an eLearning strategy; how an LMS can help your business lower print costs, reduce employee turnover, positively impact sales, and much more. Whether you’re exploring the marketplace or building out your business case for online learning, this guide has the information you want. As you prepare to move to a new LMS consider Clarifi Talent Development, the learning and performance management system designed for today’s workforce. It is the choice for leading brands like Brinker, Newk’s and Subway. Unfortunately, many business owners either fail to see the value in ongoing training or don’t have the budget for it. Competition is fierce, margins are tight and learning programs can fall by the wayside. Sometimes the tried and true methods still get the job done. But all too often, on-the-job training is unengaging, expensive and inefficient.

Every user’s first interaction with your website begins with a series of DNS queries. The Domain Name System or DNS is a distributed internet database that maps human-readable names to IP addresses, ensuring users reach the correct online asset (website, application, etc) efficiently. Knowing the complexities and best practices of this layer of your online infrastructure will help your organization build redundancy, improve end-user performance and establish a top notch DR plan. The enterprise data warehouse (EDW) has been at the cornerstone of enterprise data strategies for over 20 years. EDW systems have traditionally been built on relatively costly hardware infrastructures. But ever-growing data volume and increasingly complex processing have raised the cost of EDW software and hardware licenses while impacting the performance needed for analytic insights. Organizations can now use EDW offloading and optimization techniques to reduce costs of storing, processing and analyzing large volumes of data. Getting data governance right is critical to your business success. That means ensuring your data is clean, of excellent quality, and of verifiable lineage. Such governance principles can be applied in Hadoop-like environments. Hadoop is designed to store, process and analyze large volumes of data at significantly lower cost than a data warehouse. But to get the return on investment, you must infuse data governance processes as part of offloading.
