Improving the customer experience is a strategic imperative for most organizations today, but delivering an engaging experience across the growing number of digital customer touch points can be a daunting challenge. Organizations must deliver responsive experiences that “play well” on smartphones, PCs, and tablets. They must publish content to installed app experiences on mobile and other connected devices, to social channels, and to email campaigns. They must manage global sites in different languages, localize the experience for different markets, and — increasingly — personalize the experience for different customer personas or segments. A modern digital experience management platform is essential for any organization hoping to make digital experience delivery a core competency. IDC interviewed organizations using Adobe Experience Manager Sites (AEM Sites) to understand the impact of the platform on their ability to create, manage, and deliver digital experiences. Patient falls were the largest category of adverse events reported at Barnes- Jewish Hospital. Progress in meeting targets for reducing falls and fall injury rates had been static despite multiple efforts. One component of the hospital’s Fall Reduction Program was a portable bed exit alarm system—a Bed-Check Classic-Check® control unit (CU) with Sensormat® pressure sensitive mat— widely used throughout the hospital. Due to high demand by staff, the CU was often not available, resulting in delayed care delivery and staff dissatisfaction. Loss or damage due to handoff between staff and the central service department resulted in additional resources and costs. Read this case study to learn how Barnes-Jewish Hospital implemented Bed-Check® Fall Management Solution as a part of their Fall Reduction Program, resulting in decreased fall injury rates and improved staff satisfaction.

The current trend in manufacturing is towards tailor-made products in smaller lots with shorter delivery times. This change may lead to frequent production modifications resulting in increased machine downtime, higher production cost, product waste—and no need to rework faulty products. To satisfy the customer demand behind this trend, manufacturers must move quickly to new production models. Quality assurance is the key area that IT must support. At the same time, the traceability of products becomes central to compliance as well as quality. Traceability can be achieved by interconnecting data sources across the factory, analyzing historical and streaming data for insights, and taking immediate action to control the entire end-to-end process. Doing so can lead to noticeable cost reductions, and gains in efficiency, process reliability, and speed of new product delivery. Additionally, analytics helps manufacturers find the best setups for machinery.

Collaboration across the healthcare team has always been important. What’s different today? You can collaborate over video anywhere anytime to education, delivery care or get things done! Education, It’s a good thing, right? But education to prevent unnecessary re-hospitalizations is a great thing. Patients with chronic disease may find themselves in the hospital on Monday, released to go home a few days later, just to find themselves back in the Emergency room the following Monday creating an expensive cycle of declining health. Collaborative video education is breaking this cycle helping healthcare teams and patients better manage disease through community and home based education.

In real estate, the most important factor is location, location, location! Your services are not quite as sensitive to the physical position of your technology, but location certainly can be a pivotal factor in optimizing your service design and service delivery. Ideally, location shouldn’t matter; however, it does have an e?ect on customer experience. When technology services were simpler, location was largely irrelevant, but now the complexity of new services demands a strategy more in line with your BT agenda than your former IT agenda. The e?ects of regulatory, cost, risk, and performance factors will vary based on the physical location of your technology resources. Colocation providers, cloud service providers, and even traditional hosting services o?er plenty of evolving options to help infrastructure and operations (I&O) professionals balance these factors to optimize service design and delivery.

Agile integration — combining integration technologies, Agile delivery techniques, and cloud-native platforms to improve speed and security of software delivery — is a critical foundation for successful digital transformation. The pace of digital innovation and disruption continues to accelerate, driving the need for faster change to business models, processes, and applications. Firms that can quickly reconfigure and reconnect old and new applications have the advantage, and those with slow integration processes are at serious risk of losing customers. An Agile combination of integration and custom development is needed to meet the customer’s expectations and avoid losing market share to competitors that do put the customer first.1 For this study, we assessed the differences between successful and less successful Agile integration and app delivery strategies, why some firms can change their business faster, and what makes one integration strategy better than another.

IT and business are changing rapidly. Growth opportunities in new markets, evolving customer behaviors and preferences, increased competitive pressure, and new standards in regulatory compliance are causing organizations to adapt their operations and processes.1 Even so, rigid legacy IT infrastructure can keep you from adjusting to change and reduce the business value of IT. These complex environments often limit flexibility, speed, and scalability, resulting in slow application and service delivery. As a result, your organization can experience broad effects, especially within your IT operations and development teams. Developers need resources to be provisioned and scaled quickly so they can begin work immediately when an idea strikes. They also want more control over those resources while they are in use. However, with complex, hard-to-manage environments and manual processes, IT operations teams often struggle to provide resources and services at the speed that developers demand. Th
