An IBM Security webinar featuring Gartner analyst Anton Chuvakin Gone are the days of a clearly defined network perimeter, in which you can confidently rely on static rules to detect intruders. As the cyber threat landscape has evolved, so has the vendor landscape. With all the options available, do you know which threat detection solutions to invest in – much less which ones will still exist in five years? Listen to this IBM Security webinar featuring Gartner analyst Anton Chuvakin to learn: Similarities and differences between SIEM and UEBA solutions Predictions on the future of these two markets How QRadar’s single-platform approach to SIEM and UEBA can help you not only detect more threats, but also more accurately determine if a threat is real versus benign

If you’re dealing with the high cost and complexities of delivering reliable wide area connectivity over traditional carrier-based networks, you’re probably considering some form of software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN). With the variety of constraints that you face, selecting the right SD-WAN solution for your enterprise may require a few compromises. Security, however, should not be one of them. There are various models for combining SD-WAN and network security, but only one that can truly be called “secure SD-WAN.” Fortinet, the most trusted name in network security, has leveraged its industry-leading FortiGate Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) to deliver integrated best-of-breed SD-WAN capabilities. Powered by the new FortiOS 6.0 operating system, SD-WANenabled FortiGate solutions provide the right level of service for every application, while ensuring effective protection from advanced evolving threats across your distributed enterprise.

In today’s dynamic network environment, point-in-time solutions lack the visibility and control you need to implement an effective security policy that will accelerate threat detection and response. And disparate solutions only add to capital and operating costs and administrative complexity.

Vulnerability Management (VM) means systematically finding and eliminating network vulnerabilities. Choosing a solution for VM is a critical step toward protecting your organization's network and data. Without proven, automated technology for precise detection and remediation, no network can withstand the daily onslaught of new vulnerabilities that threaten security. This checklist from Qualys provides a 12 point shortlist of considerations to determine what solutions will work best for your organization.

The Wide Area Network (WAN) is in the midst of a significant evolution. Software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) is the key factor driving this evolution and bringing along with it many transformational changes. SD-WAN has enabled several new WAN uses cases, such as enabling reliable, secure and high performance support of software-as-a-service (SaaS), cloud compute, cloud storage, cloud security and the ability to use non-deterministic Internet services to provide business-class transport. The traditional WAN architecture was ill equipped to support these new use cases. As is usually the case with an emerging market, the first entrants into the SD-WAN space were start-ups. However, given the ability of SD-WAN to support both traditional and emerging WAN use cases, the market has recently been flooded with a range of vendors, solutions and technologies offering varying types of SD-WAN solutions. While having differing types of solutions provided by numerous suppliers is potentially beneficial, it

The problem with the vast majority of network and endpoint security solutions is that they operate on the premise of static whitelists and blacklists. These lists do not account for the changing nature of URLs, IPs, files and applications, nor for the volume of unknown threats permeating the web, meaning they cannot be used to provide adequate protection. Compounding this problem is that commercial network security technology, such as NGFWs and unified threat management systems, can easily flood the organization’s network security teams with too many alerts and false positives, making it impossible to understand and respond to new threats. As a result, not only do these threats evade the security technology and land with the victim’s infrastructure, but they also have plenty of time to steal sensitive data and inflict damage to the victim’s business. The final characteristic of the latest attacks is how quickly they compromise and exfiltrate data from the organization, compared to the
